This benefit art show for the Nevada Rock Art Foundation was started eight years ago and is now in its 5th year at the Artists Co-op Gallery. It is ever popular and a great inspiration for our artists, photographers, carvers, potters and basketmakers who respond more enthusiastically every year. The arts and crafts from over 100 artisans reflect Nevada’s abundant Native American rock art known as petroglyphs. Peter Goin will be signing his new limited edition book “Nevada Rock Art’ on July 11.
Artists Co-op Gallery’s annual Rockin’ Out Art Show is a month long celebration of the ancient art of petroglyphs and pictographs as envisioned by local artisans. A portion of the proceeds from sales go to the Nevada Rock Art Foundation. An open reception with refreshments, artists and representatives of the Nevada Rock Art Foundation is from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, July 11. This month long free show can be seen daily, 11 am-4pm July 1-31 at the Artists Co-op Gallery, 627 Mill St., Reno, NV 89502, 775-322-8896. The gallery has over 20 members. Their work can be seen daily at the gallery. Find out more about the Artists Co-op at www.artistsco-opgalleryreno.com and more about the Nevada Rock Art Foundation at www.nvrockart.org.
