Upon arrival, officers found one driver unresponsive and in critical condition and another driver with possible chest injuries. Witnesses to the accident reported that a 1996 gold Mercury Cougar was traveling west bound on McCarran Boulevard and attempted to make a left turn onto Wedekind Road, turning in front of east bound traffic.
An eastbound black 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser could not stop in time and struck the right side of the Mercury. The driver of the Mercury was transported to Renown by REMSA where he remains in critical condition with internal and external injuries. The driver of the Toyota was also transported to Renown for non-life-threatening injuries. Both drivers are listed as Sparks residents.
