Nevada Women’s Fund 2009 Salute to Women of Achievement event

RENO –– More than 60 women will be recognized on Thursday for their contributions to the community and their employers during the Nevada Women’s Fund (NWF) annual Salute to Women of Achievement event. These women will join the nearly 1,200 women who have received this award since the event began in 1991.

The 2009 keynote speaker is Carla J. Christofferson, a partner and head of O'Melveny and Meyer’s Los Angeles office. Christofferson is also the co-owner of the LA Sparks, WNBA champions in 2001 and 2002.

Nancy Cashell, longtime Reno philanthropist and community volunteer, will be inducted into the Nevada Women’s Fund Hall of Fame.

Seating for the luncheon begins at 10:30 a.m. and the luncheon begins at 11 a.m. in the Summit Pavilion at the Grand Sierra Resort. Individual tickets may be purchased for $100 and corporate tables for $1,000. For more information, call 786-2335 or go to www.nevadawomensfund.org.

The Nevada Women’s Fund, founded in 1982, strengthens the community by empowering women to improve their lives and the lives of their families. The Fund achieves its mission by granting funds to organizations to fund projects for social change and by awarding scholarships to individual women to complete their educations.
