Saturday is national “Make A Difference Day” and to help others find ways in which they can make a difference throughout the year, there will be a Volunteer Fair at Depoali Middle School on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This citywide event will allow parents and students to explore the different volunteer opportunities available in Reno. A variety of nonprofit organizations will have booths with information about the services they provide and the types of volunteer work they need. The goal of the fair is to match community needs with the interests of volunteers.

As part of the fair, Depoali Leadership students will be collecting new and gently used Halloween costumes for toddlers through teens. These costumes will be given to the Sierra Association of Foster Families and to Kids Kottage. The fair will also have a collection bin for non-perishable food for the Northern Nevada Food Bank and a bin to donate eyeglasses for the Lion’s Club.

Depoali Middle School is the newest school in Washoe County. It is located at 9300 Wilbur May Pkwy.
