RENO — Washoe County has received stimulus funding to pay for fire ecosystem restoration projects in northern Nevada. On Thursday, local businesses are invited to a free workshop where Lynda Nelson, county parks and open space manager, and Cheryl Surface, a county park planner, will talk about the project and bid process. The county hopes to accept bids from landscaping contractors for mapping, seeding, planting trees and shrubs, soil erosion control, weed eradication, irrigation, thinning of trees and brush and disease and insect control.
The workshop will begin at 4 p.m. and will be held at the Washoe County Complex Building ‘C’ Conference Room at 1001 E. Ninth St. in Reno.
The workshop is free; however, registration is required. Register at www.nsbdc.org/education/calendar or call 784-1717.
