Watercolor Duet: an art show
Transparent watercolor – the ultimate in watercolor painting and not matched by any other medium for the glow and brilliance it creates. This is the medium that Jean Hare and Gina Lijoi have chosen to illuminate their visions in the show Watercolor Duet. Hare’s brushes lightly kiss the paper to create sunny landscapes that are light and airy. Lijoi uses flowing colors to distill a subject to its essence.
Hare has honed her skills in the workshops of local artists. She has shown her works at Renown Regional Medical Center, Sierra Watercolor Society, Washoe County Library, and the Great Reno Balloon Races. Gina’s BFA served her well as a graphic designer. She now turns her graphic eye to the people, animals and places around her. She has had numerous awards and solo exhibits.
Tetyana Anderson who works in various media, will also be a guest artist.
The Artists Co-op Gallery will host Watercolor Duet show Saturday through May 31, daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A reception with refreshments will be Sunday from 1. to 4 p.m. The gallery is located at 627 Mill St. in Reno and is free to the public.
