NIXON — The Pyramid Lake Paiute tribe, NV Energy and Black Rock Solar are celebrating completion of a 271-kilowatt photovoltaic panel project with a community barbecue today at 5 p.m. at Pyramid Lake High School, 711 State St.

The new solar arrays installed at the high school, the museum and visitor center, Tribal Health Clinic and other locations will generate up to 487,800 kilowatt hours of electricity per year and should reduce the tribe’s annual electric bill by $72,800.
